Project Overview
By Bart Consultancy was commissioned by the developer of Al Jubail Island’s newest residential community to lead the aquatic infrastructure design and safety strategy across all communal pool areas. The mission was to integrate world-class safety standards with sustainable, locally manufactured technology — ensuring reliability, aesthetics, and compliance with Abu Dhabi’s environmental goals.
Consultancy Scope
- Full aquatic infrastructure design review and safety compliance.
- Specification and coordination of automated pool safety systems using Rollo technology.
- Collaboration with My Pool Cover UAE for system assembly and installation, locally executed at Kezad, Abu Dhabi.
- Supervision of electrical, filtration, and automation integration for each pool site.
Challenges
The main challenge was ensuring uniform safety and operational efficiency across 32 different pool types — each with unique spatial constraints. The design team had to deliver a durable, load-bearing, and fully automated solution adaptable to residential and community use, while minimizing evaporation and energy costs in the UAE’s demanding climate.
Solutions Delivered
- Implemented Rollo slatted automatic pool covers, engineered for UAE conditions, providing up to 85% savings on energy and water consumption through reduced evaporation and heating loss
- Designed automation interfaces that synchronize with existing filtration and lighting systems, allowing users to control pool safety and energy usage through a centralized app.
- Oversaw local production and assembly in Kezad, ensuring shorter lead times and full after-sales support.
- Delivered on-site staff training and a maintenance plan for long-term reliability.
Results & Impact
The outcome was a benchmark project in community pool safety and sustainability. Every pool within the development now meets international safety standards, with a system strong enough to withstand 250 kg of weight, ensuring complete protection for families and children.
